Christmas Donation - Turn It Around

This year Butterfly has had children as young as 7 needing support for an eating disorder.
Help Butterfly TURN IT AROUND for people with an eating disorder and their families this holiday period.

WHERE WILL MY DONATION GO?

  • $20 To enable parents of someone with an eating disorder to attend a Butterfly face-to-face support group.
  • $50 Towards our Helpline counsellors developing resources to support individual and family recovery.
  • $100 So more schools can facilitate our first digital body image program for males.
  • $300 To enable someone experiencing an eating disorder and their support person to attend a six week face-to-face recovery program.
  • $500 For Butterfly sessional presenters to educate and empower teachers, students and parents within schools on prevention and early identification.
  • $1000 To enable Butterfly to train and educate rural or remote community to deliver Butterfly's recovery and carer support programs.
  • $5000 To the relocation of an entire family so their loved one can attend the Intensive Outpatient Program.

 



Donation Questions

Capital funding or general funding?

Donating to our Capital Fund will enable the long-term sustainability of Butterfly so that we can provide assistance and support to future Australians suffering from eating disorders and negative body image. 

Donating to our General Fundraising meets the immediate needs of our programs and services. 

Is my donation tax deductible?

Butterfly is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) with Item 1 status and is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and is a registered charity under the provisions of the Charitable Fundraising Act (NSW) 1991 – CF no. 18393. Therefore, all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

How will I know how Butterfly has used my donation?

When will I receive my tax receipt?

A tax receipt will be posted or emailed within the week of making your donation. For online donations, an order notification will be emailed immediately after a donation is made, and then a tax receipt will be emailed within the week.

Worried about a friend or someone you care about?

It can be extremely difficult raising the subject of eating disorders with a friend or loved one. To be supportive one needs to learn what to say and what not to say.

Concerned parents & carers

Communicating your concern with your child about eating and dieting behaviour can be extremely difficult. Butterfly offers a range of services that can provide you with skills and information related to communicating with your child.

Teachers & Professionals Working with Young People

Teachers and those working with young people are often the first to become aware of dis-ordered eating behaviours.  Butterfly Education provides early intervention and prevention skills for professionals working with young people.
